I was lucky enough to have my sister and brother in law come out to visit for the 4th of July. Its always nice having family visit to show them around and spend time together.

The top set of photos in this is wandering around our neighborhood before sunset. The bottom set was from an afternoon after work, the smoke from the nearby wildfires made the sky and light a golden dusk color for a few hours. It offered up some cool photos but glad most of the fires are now contained.

Mt Baldy
For my birthday in July I decided I wanted to take on the challenge to hike to the top of Mt Baldy, the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains. It took Emily and I all day and was a very difficult hike but we made it and even toughed out the last 3 miles instead of riding the ski lift back down.
